Susumu Kurose (黒瀬 進 Kurose Susumu) was one of the Artificial Organism researchers at the Kiryu Biotech Research Facility before the Burst, notable for participating in the development of "Cell Assembler" technology. He currently leads an independent team dedicated to stopping the Matter from spreading by utilizing Aiko Tachibana as the key. He has an easygoing, carefree persona, but is willing to take some risks to achieve his objectives. He provides support to Yuya and Aiko from outside the Matter area. He and Isazu were in the same year in college, and Nanbara was one year ahead of them.
Etymology[]
- The name Susumu means "advance, make progress" (進).
- Susumu's surname Kurose means "black" (黒) (kuro) and "swift current, rapids" (瀬) (se).
